The great book Daily Rituals by Mason Curry outlines the routines of some of world's most famous creators from Hemingway to Picasso.
And there's a routine to almost all of them.
A rigorous repetition of creation.
My personal aspiration to write every day, starting with a daily blog post languished for 5 days, and then is resumed.
Because I know how important it is to put words on the page as a writer.
Where most writers never start is the worry they have about whether the words will be good or not.
The truth?
They won't be.
These words you write, is just the journey before you reach your destination.
A poem that moves someone.
A story that children dream about.
A book that adults delay a bed time for.
So many words must come before these.
So, just write, paint, draw, sing, make.
Do it every day.
That's what I try to do.
